Foundational Competencies Set Up

Foundational competencies are groups of competencies that are most critical to a leader’s success as either identified by DecisionWise in its assessments or by your organization in your customized assessments.

To set up foundational competencies:

  1. Click the “+ Add Competency” gray link in the foundational competencies window.
  2. Type the name of the foundational competency.
  3. Click to add competencies from the library to the foundational competency. The system will autosave your selections.

Key Metrics Set Up

The “Key Metrics” page is an optional section in the report. There are times when you may wish to display and group behavior statements that span multiple competencies. This setting allows you to create a “key metric” to evaluate and display these types of grouped behavior statements. Examples of key metrics might be Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, or Workplace Safety.

To set up a key metric:

  1. Select ” + Add Key Metric” gray link in the key metrics window (a key metrics group allows you to create a group of metrics under one heading).
  2. Add a title to the Key Metric.
  3. Add a description to the Key Metric. Be as detailed as possible in this description as it will display on the report and will help the report’s reader understand the metric.
  4. Add items from any competency to this key metric.
The report will display each of the items, the self, and all other scores along with an average score. You may include as many key metrics as you wish. Each key metric will display on separate pages.
