Rater Approval

What is Rater Approval?

Rater approval adds an additional step to the rater selection process by having someone approve the raters that have been selected by a participant. You may consider this option if you want participants to actively participate in the rater selection process, but would like some say in which raters will be used. A rater approver may be a supervisor, HR business partner, talent leader, or executive. 

Setting up Rater Approval

To include the rater approval process, you must do so when you initiate the assessment by clicking the “Yes” button for “Include Rater Approver.”

When you click “Yes” two additional boxes will appear:

  1. Rater approver name.
  2. Rater approver email.

Please double check the spelling and email of each approver. 

Rater Approval Timeline

You will need to adjust the rater approval timeline in the settings to ensure you have allocated the appropriate amount of time for rater approval. You can do this by going to the “Settings” section in the gray left-hand navigation area, and then select the “Assessment Admin” tab on the top to find the settings to adjust the days for rater approval. Remember, the days are business days and do not include weekends or holidays. 

Rater Approval Process

When a participant has completed their rater selection, the rater approver will receive a notification that there are raters waiting to be approved. The rater approver should follow the link in the email to view the raters waiting for approval.

Approvers have these options:

  1. Approve raters: The approver can approve the raters as they are entered by reviewing the raters and selecting “Approve Raters” found at the bottom right of the page.
  2. Add Additional Raters: The approver may add additional raters to the list by using the “Add” function found at the top of the page. The “Add” function works the same as is found in the rater selection process.
  3. Remove raters: The approver may remove raters from the list by clicking the “Minus” sign in the upper right corner of the rater. 

A log of added and removed raters is maintained on the rater approval screen. 

Failure to Review: If the rater approver fails to approve the raters during the allotted time, the participant will automatically move to the administration phase!

Notifications

Participants will receive a notification via email to any changes to their selected raters. Presently, this email is system-generated and is not customizable.
